Day 02: LISBON

• Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Lisbon, exploring the Portuguese capital known for its historic streets, traditional tiles and Atlantic character.

• Continue to the Belém district, the historic departure point for Portuguese navigators during the Age of Discoveries.

• Enjoy free time in the afternoon to explore Bairro Alto and its viewpoints.

• An optional excursion to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril is available during the afternoon.

• Return to the hotel from Restauradores Square, surrounded by lively cafés and bars.

• Highlight: Discover Lisbon’s historic heart and the maritime heritage of Belém.

Day 03: LISBON, LAGOS, CAPE ST. VINCENT, ALBUFEIRA

• Depart Lisbon towards southern Portugal, crossing the long bridge over the Tagus River before reaching the Algarve.

• Explore historic Lagos, known for its strategic port, ancient walls and charming historic centre.

• Continue to Cape St. Vincent, the westernmost point of continental Europe, surrounded by dramatic coastal cliffs.

• Stop near Sagres for the opportunity to photograph its historic fortress.

• Continue to Albufeira, where you can relax on the beaches or explore its lively historic centre.

• Accommodation will be in Albufeira or a neighbouring city in the Algarve.

• Highlight: Experience the Algarve’s historic towns, dramatic coastline and vibrant seaside atmosphere.

Day 04: ALBUFEIRA, FARO, MÉRTOLA, ÉVORA

• Travel to Faro, the peaceful capital of the Algarve, for a leisurely stroll through the city.

• Continue into the Alentejo region and visit Mértola, a historic walled town and former centre of the Muslim era.

• Explore Mértola’s historic streets, whitewashed houses and impressive castle overlooking the town.

• Continue to Évora and visit the Chapel of Bones, with admission included.

• Explore Évora’s UNESCO-listed historic centre, known for medieval palaces, Gothic religious buildings and its ancient Roman temple.

• Highlight: Discover the contrasting heritage of Faro, Mértola and UNESCO-listed Évora.

Day 05: ÉVORA, MARVÃO, CASTELO DE VIDE, TOMAR, ALJUSTREL, FÁTIMA

• Travel through the scenic landscapes of the Alentejo to Marvão, a picturesque walled town offering panoramic views across the region.

• Continue to Castelo de Vide and see its impressive castle and historic Jewish quarter, with the option to visit its medieval synagogue museum.

• After lunch, continue to Tomar and visit the Convent of Christ, the former castle-convent associated with the Order of the Templars, with admission included.

• Stop in Aljustrel, birthplace of the three young shepherds associated with the apparitions of the Virgin Mary, with the opportunity to see Lucia’s house.

• Continue to Fátima and enjoy free time at the Sanctuary of Fátima, with the option to watch the candlelight procession.

• Dinner will be included at the hotel.

Day 06: FÁTIMA, PORTO

• Travel north to Porto, Portugal’s second-largest city, arriving around 11:00 a.m.

• Enjoy a 50-minute cruise along the Douro River aboard a traditional Portuguese Rabelo boat.

• Take in Porto’s historic riverside from the water before continuing your exploration.

• Enjoy free time in the lively Ribeira district, known for narrow streets, historic merchant houses and charming cafés.

• Continue to your hotel in Porto.

• Highlight: See Porto from the Douro River before exploring the atmospheric Ribeira district.

Day 07: PORTO, BRAGA, BOM JESUS, GUIMARÃES, AVEIRO, COIMBRA

• Travel through northern Portugal to Braga, the country’s religious capital, and explore its historic cathedral.

• Take the world’s oldest funicular to the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus and admire its impressive views and Baroque staircase.

• Continue to Guimarães, Portugal’s first capital, where the Palace of the Dukes reflects the city’s historic importance.

• Continue west to Aveiro, known as the “Venice of Portugal,” with its colourful houses and picturesque canals.

• Enjoy a traditional Moliceiro boat ride through Aveiro’s canals and salt flats, including a taste of a typical local sweet.

• Continue to Coimbra, arriving in the late afternoon.

• Dinner will be included at the hotel.

• Highlight: Discover Portugal’s religious, royal and canal-side heritage across Braga, Guimarães and Aveiro.

Day 08: COIMBRA, BATALHA, NAZARÉ, ÓBIDOS, LISBON

• Explore Coimbra, known for its historic university and charming steep streets.

• Continue to Batalha and visit the magnificent Batalha Monastery, with admission included.

• Stop in Nazaré, a traditional fishing town and seaside resort, with time for lunch and a stroll.

• Take the elevator to Nazaré’s old city, with tickets included, for impressive views over the ocean.

• Continue to Óbidos, one of Portugal’s most picturesque towns, known for its whitewashed streets decorated with flowers.

• Arrive in Lisbon at approximately 7:30 p.m., bringing the journey to an end.

• Highlight: Finish your Portugal journey with medieval heritage, Atlantic scenery and the charming streets of Óbidos.
