Experience a 15-day adventure from Oslo through Norway’s spectacular fjords and Arctic coastline before continuing into Finnish Lapland, travelling in a small group of 6–18 travellers. Travel by scenic rail to Flåm, cruise through the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord and explore Bergen before embarking on a six-night Norwegian coastal voyage to Kirkenes. Continue with an included King Crab Safari and cross into Finland for three nights in a glass-roofed Aurora Cabin. Depending on the season, enjoy reindeer, husky, snowmobile or autumn wilderness experiences, together with Aurora hunting and opportunities to witness the Northern Lights when natural conditions allow.

Day 01: OSLO

  • Arrive in Oslo and make your own way to your centrally located hotel; the arrival airport transfer is not included.

  • Depending on your arrival time, enjoy free time to explore Oslo’s city centre, harbour and surrounding areas independently.

  • Suggested independent visits include the Opera House, Bygdøy Peninsula and Fram Museum; these are not included sightseeing.

  • Meet your Tour Leader and fellow travellers at the hotel in the evening, followed by an included welcome dinner.

  • Highlight: Begin your Nordic journey in Norway’s capital and meet your travelling group.

  • Meals: Dinner.


Day 02: OSLO

  • After breakfast, join an included four-hour city tour by minibus with a knowledgeable English-speaking local guide.

  • Discover Oslo’s history, culture and modern character during an introduction to the Norwegian capital.

  • The afternoon is free for independent exploration, with the Parliament, Royal Palace, surrounding park and harbour among the suggested areas.

  • Any attractions or activities undertaken during the free afternoon are at your own expense unless specifically stated.

  • Highlight: Explore Oslo with a local guide before enjoying the capital at your own pace.

  • Meals: Breakfast.


Day 03: OSLO, MYRDAL, FLÅM

  • Depart Oslo by early morning train and travel across Norway’s mountain landscapes towards Myrdal.

  • Continue to Flåm on a scenic rail journey through valleys, rivers, mountains and waterfalls.

  • Arrive in the fjord-side village of Flåm and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure.

  • Optional walks and locally available activities can be enjoyed during your free time and are not included.

  • Overnight at Fretheim Hotel, Flåm.

  • Highlight: Experience one of Norway’s most scenic rail journeys on the way to the fjord region.

  • Meals: Breakfast.


Day 04: FLÅM, GUDVANGEN, BERGEN

  • Board an included approximately two-hour fjord cruise from Flåm to the small village of Gudvangen.

  • Sail through the Aurlandsfjord and UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, surrounded by dramatic mountains and fjord villages.

  • On arrival in Gudvangen, continue by included private transfer to Bergen.

  • Check into Bergen Børs Hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

  • Dinner is not included today and can be arranged independently in Bergen.

  • Highlight: Cruise through Norway’s celebrated fjords before continuing to historic Bergen.

  • Meals: Breakfast.


Day 05: BERGEN

  • After breakfast, join an included three-hour walking tour of Bergen with an English-speaking local guide.

  • Explore historic Bryggen and the old Hanseatic Quarter while learning about Bergen’s maritime heritage.

  • Enjoy free time afterwards, with independent options including the fish markets and funicular to Mount Fløyen.

  • Transfer to the cruise terminal in the afternoon and board your six-night Norwegian coastal voyage.

  • Guests carry their own luggage from the pier through check-in and to their cabin; porter service applies to the Bergen transfer as stated.

  • Highlight: Discover Bergen before beginning your voyage north along Norway’s iconic coastline.

  • Meals: Breakfast and Dinner.


Day 06: ÅLESUND, MOLDE

  • Continue north along the Norwegian coast and arrive in Ålesund, renowned for its distinctive Art Nouveau architecture.

  • During your time ashore, independently explore Apotekergata and Kongensgate or climb the steps to Mount Aksla.

  • Atlantic Sea Park is another suggested independent attraction and is not an included excursion.

  • Continue to Molde before sailing onwards towards Trondheim.

  • Highlight: Discover the distinctive architecture and coastal character of Ålesund and Molde.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.


Day 07: TRONDHEIM, RØRVIK

  • Arrive in Trondheim and enjoy time to independently explore Norway’s historic royal city.

  • Suggested sights include the Old Town Bridge, Nidaros Cathedral, Archbishop’s Palace and riverside storehouses.

  • Continue sailing past Kjeungskjær Lighthouse and through the narrow Stokksund strait.

  • Arrive later in Rørvik before continuing north along Norway’s coastline.

  • Highlight: Experience Trondheim’s historic character before sailing through Norway’s coastal waterways.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.


Day 08: ARCTIC CIRCLE, BODØ, LOFOTEN

  • Sail north between Nesna and Ørnes and cross the Arctic Circle, marking your entry into the Arctic region.

  • First-time Arctic travellers may participate in the ship’s optional Arctic Circle Baptism ceremony.

  • Continue along the Helgeland coast towards Bodø, passing the distinctive Torghatten mountain formation.

  • Sail onwards towards the Lofoten region as the coastal journey continues farther north.

  • Northern Lights may be visible when natural conditions are favourable, but sightings are not guaranteed.

  • Highlight: Cross the Arctic Circle and continue deeper into Arctic Norway.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.


Day 09: HARSTAD, FINNSNES, TROMSØ

  • Travel through the Raftsund strait before making a brief call at Harstad and continuing via Finnsnes.

  • Arrive in Tromsø for an extended stop in one of Norway’s most important centres of Arctic exploration.

  • Independent sightseeing options include the Arctic Cathedral and Fjellheisen cable car to Storsteinen.

  • Continue sailing north after Tromsø, with further opportunities to look for the Northern Lights when conditions permit.

  • Highlight: Spend time in Tromsø, Norway’s celebrated Arctic capital.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.


Day 10: HAMMERFEST, HONNINGSVÅG, KJØLLEFJORD

  • Sail through Magerøysund with an early call at Hammerfest before continuing to Honningsvåg.

  • Honningsvåg is the gateway to the North Cape, one of the best-known landmarks in Arctic Norway.

  • Norwegian coastal voyage shore excursions are not included and can be booked separately onboard.

  • Continue towards Kjøllefjord, passing Finnkirka, a striking rock formation with significance to the Sámi people.

  • Highlight: Journey through some of Norway’s northernmost coastal communities and the North Cape region.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.


Day 11: VADSØ, KIRKENES

  • Make an early call at Vadsø before reaching Kirkenes, the final port of the northbound coastal voyage.

  • Disembark and join the included King Crab Safari, which is included during all operating seasons.

  • Learn about the Arctic King Crab and enjoy a freshly prepared King Crab meal as part of the experience.

  • The detailed winter operation uses a snowmobile-driven sled, with the guide driving while guests travel as passengers; warm clothing and a helmet are provided.

  • Visit the snow rooms at the Snow Resort before continuing to your Gamme Cabin; drinks at the ice bar cost extra.

  • Enjoy an included three-course dinner, with a possible opportunity to see the Northern Lights if natural conditions are favourable.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.


Day 12: KIRKENES, INARI, IVALO

  • After breakfast, travel from Kirkenes across the border into Finnish Lapland and continue towards Inari.

  • Enjoy an included lunch followed by a guided visit to a cultural site dedicated to Sámi heritage.

  • Continue to Ivalo and check into Aurora Village or similar for a three-night stay in a glass-roofed Aurora Cabin.

  • Winter clothing is provided for applicable activities, including boots, socks, mittens, overalls, balaclava and tube scarf.

  • One evening during your stay includes Aurora Hunting by Car, with the operating night selected locally according to conditions.

  • Northern Lights sightings remain dependent on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.


Day 13: IVALO

Winter Departures – December to March

  • Meet the local reindeer and enjoy an included short reindeer sleigh ride with local Sámi-reindeer herders.

  • Visit a traditional Kota tent for tea, coffee and a small snack while learning more about reindeer traditions.

  • In the afternoon, join an included snowmobile safari with warm outdoor clothing provided.

  • Two guests share one snowmobile, with an opportunity to change drivers during the safari.

  • The winter Ivalo programme also includes a crafting experience and Aurora Hunting by Car, with activity order confirmed locally.

  • Highlight: Experience traditional Lapland activities with reindeer and snowmobiling.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.


Autumn Departures – September to November

  • Before sufficient snow cover, the snow-based programme is replaced by the seasonal autumn activity programme.

  • Included autumn experiences across the Ivalo stay are husky wagon riding, reindeer feeding, panorama sauna and jacuzzi, floating wood sauna, BBQ workshop and Aurora Hunting by Car.

  • Exact activity timing and order are confirmed locally and may change according to snow, weather and operating conditions.


Day 14: IVALO

Winter Departures – December to March

  • After breakfast, visit the husky farm and prepare for the included husky safari.

  • Receive instructions on driving the sled and following the hand signals provided by the activity leader.

  • Each team generally consists of approximately six dogs, one driver and one passenger seated in the sled.

  • Driver and passenger may change positions during the safari.

  • Enjoy an included farewell dinner in the evening with your fellow travellers.

  • Highlight: Complete your Arctic activities with a husky safari before the farewell dinner.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.


Autumn Departures

  • The husky sled experience does not form part of the autumn programme before sufficient snow cover.

  • Seasonal autumn activities are operated across the Ivalo stay, with their exact order confirmed locally.

  • The included farewell dinner remains part of the final evening programme.


Day 15: IVALO

  • Enjoy breakfast before checking out of your accommodation.

  • Take the included transfer to Ivalo Airport for your onward journey.

  • Additional stays in Finland or other extensions can be arranged separately and are not part of the standard package.

  • Highlight: Conclude your Nordic journey after travelling from Oslo to the heart of Finnish Lapland.

  • Meals: Breakfast.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Tour duration is 15 days / 14 nights, travelling from Oslo to Ivalo.

  • Group size is a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 18 travellers.

  • Minimum age is 14 years; the tour is not suitable for children under 14.

  • Travellers must be in good physical health and comfortable with moderate walking and active components.

  • The group tour may not be suitable for travellers with limited accessibility due to its pace and included activities.

  • Guests must manage their own luggage over several short sections; general portage is limited and Tour Leaders cannot routinely assist.

  • Porter assistance is provided for the Bergen coastal-voyage transfer and at the Snow Resort and Aurora Village.

  • Autumn and winter programmes differ, with the exact seasonal changeover dependent on when sufficient snow arrives.

  • Activity order, duration or location may change due to weather and local operating conditions.

  • Activities that cannot be rescheduled because of weather are generally refunded as determined by the activity provider.

  • Northern Lights sightings are not guaranteed and depend on natural viewing conditions.

  • Coastal voyage excursions are optional, booked onboard and may be weather-dependent.

  • Arrival transfer in Oslo is not included; the departure transfer to Ivalo Airport is included.

  • Coastal voyage accommodation is in an unspecified superior outside cabin with a window; upgrades are subject to availability.

  • Twin beds can only be requested for the coastal voyage, Fretheim Hotel, Snow Resort Kirkenes and Aurora Village; twin bedding cannot be guaranteed in Oslo or Bergen.
