Discover northern India on a 13-day women-only small-group journey for 1 to 12 travellers, beginning and ending in Delhi. Travel through Rajasthan by train, jeep, rickshaw and private vehicle while connecting with local women through food, crafts, dance and community initiatives. Experience the Thar Desert, Jodhpur’s Mehrangarh Fort, Jaipur’s Amber Fort and a women-led Pink City rickshaw experience. The journey continues to Agra for a traditional saree experience and sunset visit to the Taj Mahal before returning to Delhi.

Day 01: DELHI
Arrive in Delhi and attend the welcome meeting at 06:00 p.m. to meet your local female leader and fellow travellers.
Highlight: Begin your women-only journey with an included welcome dinner and your first introduction to India’s renowned cuisine.
If arriving early, you may independently visit the UNESCO-listed Humayun’s Tomb.
Optional Activities: Humayun’s Tomb, Qutub Minar and Red Fort are available at additional cost.
Attendance at the welcome meeting is important, as insurance and emergency contact details will be collected.

Day 02: DELHI, BIKANER
Explore Old Delhi by metro and on foot, with the possibility of travelling in a female-only metro carriage.
Ride a cycle rickshaw around Chandni Chowk, then visit Jama Masjid and Sheeshganj Gurudwara.
Visit Dilli Haat INA, where artisans from across India showcase handicrafts and regional cuisine.
Highlight: Discover Old Delhi’s markets, religious landmarks and local transport before continuing overnight to Rajasthan.
Board an approximately 8-hour overnight sleeper train to Bikaner.
Sleeper berths include bedding, but compartments may be shared with local travellers of mixed genders.

Day 03: BIKANER
Arrive in Bikaner shortly after 07:00 a.m. and transfer by tuk-tuk to the hotel before beginning the day’s sightseeing.
Visit Junagarh Fort and explore its red sandstone and marble palaces, courtyards and museum collections.
Continue to a local home in Bikaner’s Old Town and meet women involved in a community initiative.
Highlight: See how local women prepare poppadoms and bhajia while sharing chai and learning about an initiative supporting their livelihoods.

Day 04: JAISALMER
Transfer by tuk-tuk to Bikaner railway station and board an early train to Jaisalmer.
There is no food cart on this train, so travellers should purchase food and snacks before departure.
Highlight: Arrive in Rajasthan’s famous desert city and enjoy the afternoon exploring independently or relaxing at your hotel.
The approximate travel time today is 6 hours.

Day 05: THAR DESERT
Travel by 4WD into the Thar Desert, spending the day among the rolling sand landscapes before reaching your desert camp.
Meet local women and learn about their daily lives while a traditional Rajasthani dinner is prepared.
Watch an included Kalbeliya dance performance, a traditional dance inspired by the movements of a serpent.
Highlight: Spend an atmospheric evening in the Thar Desert with local women, traditional dance and an included dinner.
Accommodation is very basic, with open-air camping cots, bedding, basic toilet facilities and no shower.
In particularly cold winter conditions, the overnight camp may be replaced with a Thar Desert day trip for safety.

Day 06: JAISALMER, JODHPUR
Enjoy an included breakfast at the desert camp before travelling by 4WD back to Jaisalmer.
Join your leader for an included walking tour exploring Jaisalmer’s historic citadel and former trading heritage.
Highlight: Discover the history of Rajasthan’s desert city before continuing by train to Jodhpur.
Later, transfer to the railway station and board the train to Jodhpur.
Approximate travel time today is 5 hours.

Day 07: JODHPUR
Visit Mehrangarh Fort for a guided exploration of its ornate palaces and museum.
Continue to Sadar Bazaar in Jodhpur’s Old City for an included guided market tour.
Sample local favourites such as lassi and dal baati while exploring the market.
Highlight: Experience Jodhpur through its monumental hilltop fort, colourful Old City and local flavours.

Day 08: JODHPUR, CHANDELAO GARH
Begin with an included morning yoga session before driving approximately one hour to Chandelao Garh.
Join a village walk and visit Sunder Rang Crafts Centre, which employs local artisans, predominantly women.
Meet female artisans and learn how the initiative supports employment, education and traditional craft practices.
Highlight: Connect with local women while discovering colourful Rajasthani handicrafts and a community project supporting their livelihoods.
In the evening, take part in included rangoli-making and traditional henna-painting experiences.

Day 09: JAIPUR
Travel approximately 5 hours by private vehicle to Jaipur, Rajasthan’s famous Pink City.
Join your leader for an orientation walk through Jaipur’s streets and bustling bazaars.
Browse areas known for handcrafted textiles, folk art and semi-precious stones.
Highlight: Experience Indian cinema with an included Bollywood movie at the Art Deco-style Raj Mandir Cinema.

Day 10: JAIPUR
Explore Jaipur by e-rickshaw with the Pink City Rickshaw Company, which creates employment opportunities for women from low-income households.
Meet your female driver and see some of Jaipur’s highlights from a local perspective.
Visit Amber Fort on an included guided tour overlooking Maota Lake.
Highlight: Experience Jaipur through women-led local transport before joining a local family for an included home-cooking experience and dinner.
Optional Activities: City Palace, Jantar Mantar Observatory and a hot-air balloon safari.
The balloon safari operates seasonally and remains subject to availability and suitable operating conditions.

Day 11: AGRA
Travel approximately 4.5 hours by train from Jaipur to Agra.
Visit the home of a local woman and learn how to select and wear a traditional saree, complete with bangles and a bindi.
Highlight: Visit the Taj Mahal at sunset following your traditional saree experience.
Explore the grounds surrounding the famous marble mausoleum built by Shah Jahan in honour of Mumtaz Mahal.

Day 12: AGRA, DELHI
Spend the morning in Agra, with the option to make an additional sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal.
Alternatively, visit Agra Fort, which is listed as an optional activity.
Visit Sheroes Hangout, a social-enterprise vegetarian café employing women who survived acid attacks.
Highlight: Enjoy an included lunch at Sheroes Hangout while learning about an initiative centred on women’s resilience and employment.
Later, board a high-speed train back to Delhi and check into your hotel.

Day 13: DELHI
The organised journey concludes today, with no further scheduled activities.
Highlight: Extend your stay independently to explore more of Delhi or continue your onward journey.
Travellers departing later can arrange luggage storage at the hotel.
IMPORTANT TRIP INFORMATION
Group Size: 1 to 12 travellers.
Minimum Age: 15 years old.
Transport: Auto rickshaw, bus, car, cycle rickshaw, jeep, metro, train, private vehicle and shuttle bus.
Long Journeys: The itinerary includes early starts and several long rail journeys, including an approximately 8-hour overnight train on Day 02.
Sleeper Train: Berths may be allocated across different parts of the train and compartments may be shared with local travellers of mixed genders.
Train Facilities: Sleeper trains use 2AC or 3AC class depending on the route, with bedding provided and shared toilets at the ends of each carriage.
Desert Conditions: The overnight stay may become a day trip if cold winter conditions make camping unsuitable.
Sleeping Bag: Recommended, particularly for colder winter departures, but not mandatory.
Single Supplement: Available subject to availability but does not apply to the Day 02 overnight train or Day 05 desert camp.
Temple Dress: Clothing should cover the arms and extend below the knees when entering religious sites.
Luggage: Limited to one small soft-sided bag plus a daypack, no more than 15–20 kg total per person.
Suitcases: Hard or externally framed suitcases are discouraged because of limited storage.
Arrival Transfer: Not included as standard; a paid pre-arranged transfer can be booked in advance.
Departure Transfer: Not included as standard; a paid transfer can be pre-booked.
Accommodation: Some accommodation may be simple, with shared bathrooms, limited hot water and a mix of air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms.
Hot-Air Balloon: Jaipur flights operate from September to April and remain subject to availability and operating conditions.
Passport Details: Booking details must match the passport exactly; amendment fees may apply within 45 days of departure.
Travel Insurance: Compulsory for international travellers, with at least medical expenses and emergency repatriation cover required; specific waiver provisions apply to travellers residing in the EU, Switzerland or USA.
