Journey through Iceland on a 6-day small-group adventure for 1 to 12 travellers, travelling from Reykjavik around the Golden Circle and along the dramatic South Coast. Experience Thingvellir National Park, Strokkur Geysir, Gullfoss, Skogafoss and Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon before taking on an included hike across Vatnajokull. Spend evenings away from city lights with opportunities to search for the Northern Lights. Return to Reykjavik via Seljalandsfoss and finish with a leader-led walk through the capital’s Old Harbour and city centre.

Day 01: REYKJAVIK
Arrive in Reykjavik and settle in before attending the welcome meeting at 06:00 p.m. with your leader and fellow travellers.
Highlight: Begin your Iceland adventure in the capital, surrounded by volcanic landscapes and a lively arts and dining scene.
If arriving early, enjoy free time exploring downtown Reykjavik’s boutiques, cafés and art galleries.
You may also independently visit the National Museum of Iceland to learn about the country’s early settlement and Viking history.
Attendance at the welcome meeting is important, as insurance and emergency contact details will be collected.

Day 02: GOLDEN CIRCLE, HVOLSVOLLUR AREA
Follow Iceland’s famous Golden Circle to Thingvellir National Park, the historic site of the country’s first parliament.
See the Silfra Fissure, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates gradually pull apart.
Continue to the Geysir geothermal area and watch Strokkur Geysir shoot water approximately 20 metres into the air.
Visit spectacular Gullfoss Waterfall before continuing towards the Hvolsvollur Valley.
Highlight: Stay at a converted Icelandic farm guesthouse away from city lights, offering an opportunity to search for the Northern Lights.
Optional Activity: Secret Lagoon, Fludir – ISK 4,500.

Day 03: SOUTH COAST, JOKULSARLON GLACIER LAGOON
Begin with a visit to Skogafoss Waterfall and its scenic viewpoint before continuing along Iceland’s South Coast.
Pass the dramatic Reynisdrangar sea stacks, Dyrholaey and the black-sand landscape of Reynisfjara.
Visit Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, where floating icebergs create one of Iceland’s most distinctive natural landscapes.
Highlight: Experience waterfalls, volcanic coastline and glacial scenery on one of Iceland’s most dramatic sightseeing days.
Stay overnight at a South Coast farm stay, with another opportunity to search for the Northern Lights when conditions allow.

Day 04: VATNAJOKULL GLACIER, VIK
Set out on the included Vatnajokull Glacier hike, exploring Europe’s largest ice cap and its changing glacial formations.
Highlight: Walk across Vatnajokull and experience Iceland’s extraordinary frozen landscape at close range.
Travellers opting out of the glacier hike may walk towards the glacier tongue or return to Jokulsarlon or Fjallsarlon.
A more relaxed alternative is to spend time around the farm stay and visit the Thorbergur Centre.
Continue later to Vik, Iceland’s southernmost mainland settlement, surrounded by sea, black sand and high cliffs.
Important: The glacier walk’s length and distance depend on local conditions, and ankle-high footwear is required for fitting crampons.

Day 05: SELJALANDSFOSS, REYKJAVIK
Visit Seljalandsfoss Waterfall before beginning the return journey to Reykjavik.
On arrival, join your leader for a walk through the Old Harbour, city centre and Hallgrimskirkja Church.
Highlight: Return to Reykjavik and experience some of the capital’s most recognisable landmarks on foot.
Enjoy free time to visit museums, galleries or other attractions independently at additional cost.
The Blue Lagoon can be arranged independently; due to possible winter delays, bookings should be made for 06:00 p.m. or later, with Day 06 preferred.
If the Northern Lights have not appeared during the trip, you may choose to search for them independently again this evening.

Day 06: REYKJAVIK
Enjoy breakfast before the organised journey comes to an end, with no further scheduled activities today.
Highlight: Extend your stay independently to experience more of Reykjavik and Iceland’s geothermal attractions.
Optional experiences include Silfra Fissure snorkelling, Nautholsvik Thermal Beach, the Lava Tunnel and Blue Lagoon.

Fitness: A reasonable level of fitness is required; individual activities may be more physically demanding.
Glacier Hike: Duration and distance depend on local conditions; ankle-high footwear is required for crampons.
Northern Lights: Sightings are not guaranteed and depend on weather and solar activity.
Local Conditions: Winter conditions may cause road or site closures and itinerary changes.
Long Drives: The itinerary includes long travel days and some rough, gravelly and winding roads.
Leader: The group leader also acts as the driver throughout the scheduled journey.
Facilities: Some accommodation may have shared rather than private ensuite facilities.
Single Supplement: Available for all nights, subject to limited availability.
Accommodation Changes: Similar-standard accommodation may be substituted when required.
Winter Clothing: Waterproof walking boots with good grip, warm layers, waterproof outerwear, gloves and suitable winter clothing are essential.
