Journey through Peru on an 8-day women-only small-group experience for 1 to 12 travellers, beginning and ending in Cusco. Explore Inca heritage through Sacsayhuaman, the Sacred Valley, Pumamarca and legendary Machu Picchu while completing scenic half-day hikes through the Andes. Connect with local women through market encounters, traditional textiles, a female-led Andean healing ceremony and a chocolate workshop supporting vulnerable women. Along the way, enjoy hummingbird watching, traditional chicha in Ollantaytambo and authentic Andean flavours at a female-owned restaurant.

Day 01: CUSCO

  • Arrive in Cusco, located at approximately 3,400 metres above sea level, and begin acclimatising before the hiking days ahead.

  • A complimentary arrival airport transfer to your hotel is included when arriving on Day 01 or using eligible pre-tour accommodation.

  • Attend the welcome meeting at 06:00 p.m. to meet your leader and fellow travellers.

  • Highlight: Enjoy an included welcome dinner at Nuna Raymi, an award-winning female-owned restaurant specialising in Andean flavours and locally sourced produce.

  • If arriving early, enjoy free time to explore Cusco’s blend of historic Inca stonework and colonial architecture.

  • Flight details for the complimentary arrival transfer must be supplied at least 14 days before travel.

Day 02: CUSCO

  • Join your leader for an orientation walk beginning at Plaza de Armas, surrounded by colonial arcades and the Cathedral of Cusco.

  • See the famous Stone of Twelve Angles at Inca Roca Palace, an outstanding example of traditional Inca stonework.

  • Visit a local market, meet a female juice vendor and enjoy an included fresh-juice tasting while hearing her entrepreneurial story.

  • Continue to Qorikancha, regarded as one of the most sacred temples of the former Inca Empire.

  • Highlight: Take part in an included Pisco Sour demonstration and mixology workshop while learning about Peru’s national cocktail.

  • Today’s walking distance is approximately 3 km.

Day 03: SACSAYHUAMAN, CUSCO

  • Travel to the Temple of the Moon, historically associated with the worship of the Inca moon goddess Mama Killa.

  • Join an included morning yoga session nearby, led by a female instructor.

  • Begin an easy downhill acclimatisation walk towards Cusco with your leader.

  • Visit the impressive Sacsayhuaman archaeological site and stop at Cristo Blanco for views across Cusco.

  • Highlight: Combine an Andean yoga experience with Inca archaeology and a scenic acclimatisation walk above Cusco.

  • The included Boleto Turistico Pass is provided, but associated transport and local-guide costs are not included.

Day 04: SACRED VALLEY, CHINCHERO, URQUILLOS

  • Travel into the Sacred Valley of the Incas and meet a local Andean community surrounded by traditional agricultural landscapes.

  • Learn about traditional textile techniques before making your own bracelet alongside local women.

  • Take part in an included Andean healing ceremony with a female shaman, incorporating traditional ceremonial practices.

  • Begin an easy hike along an old Inca trail from Chinchero to Urquillos, away from the more heavily travelled routes.

  • Highlight: Combine meaningful cultural encounters with an off-the-beaten-track hike through the Sacred Valley.

  • An included boxed lunch is provided before continuing to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

    Hiking: Approximately 3 hours / 8 km, reaching up to 3,750 m.


Day 05: SACRED VALLEY

  • Join an included chocolate-making workshop at AMA, a social enterprise providing job training and employment to vulnerable local women.

  • Learn how cacao beans are transformed into chocolate during the hands-on workshop.

  • Continue to Ensifera Camp Hummingbird Garden within the Mantanay Private Conservation Area.

  • Join a naturalist guide to observe the many hummingbird species found within the conservation area.

  • Highlight: Combine a women-supporting social-enterprise experience with guided wildlife viewing in the Sacred Valley.

  • Optional stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking at Piuray Lagoon can be arranged at an additional cost.

Day 06: PUMAMARCA, OLLANTAYTAMBO

  • Transfer from your Sacred Valley hotel to a local community and begin your hike towards the lesser-visited Pumamarca ruins.

  • Walk alongside female porters and hear their stories while learning about the former hillside fortress.

  • Continue downhill along a route following ancient aqueducts towards Ollantaytambo.

  • Explore Ollantaytambo and admire views of the town from its upper terraces.

  • Highlight: Celebrate three days of Sacred Valley hiking with traditional chicha, or Inca beer, at a local chicheria.

  • The remainder of the afternoon is free to relax ahead of the Machu Picchu excursion.

  • Accommodation: Hotel

    Travel: Approximately 1 hour
    Hiking: Approximately 4 hours / 6 km, reaching up to 3,550 m.


Day 07: MACHU PICCHU, AGUAS CALIENTES, CUSCO

  • Board the Voyager train to Aguas Calientes, travelling through the Sacred Valley and alongside the Urubamba River.

  • Continue by bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu for an included guided visit through the famous Inca citadel.

  • Highlight: Experience one of the New Seven Wonders of the World while learning about the history and structures of Machu Picchu.

  • Return to Aguas Calientes by bus and enjoy some free time before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo and continuing to Cusco.

  • Bring a daypack for Machu Picchu; your main luggage will be stored securely at Ollantaytambo train station.

  • Visitors must follow an assigned one-way Machu Picchu circuit; re-entry and independent exploration after the guided visit are not permitted.

Day 08: CUSCO

  • Enjoy breakfast before the organised journey comes to an end, with no further scheduled activities today.

  • Highlight: Extend your stay independently to experience more of Cusco and the surrounding Andean region.

  • Meals: Breakfast.

  • Arrival Transfer: Complimentary for Day 01 arrivals or eligible pre-tour accommodation; flight details are required at least 14 days before travel.

  • Altitude: Cusco sits at approximately 3,400 m, while included hikes reach up to approximately 3,750 m.

  • Fitness: The itinerary involves substantial walking and several half-day hikes; suitable hiking footwear is required.

  • Single Supplement: Available for all nights, subject to availability.

  • Machu Picchu Circuit: Entry follows a pre-assigned one-way circuit and re-entry is not permitted after exiting.

  • Machu Picchu Groups: Travellers in the same group may receive different circuits depending on ticket availability.

  • Machu Picchu Luggage: Only a daypack is taken to the site; main luggage is stored at Ollantaytambo station.

  • Wayna Picchu: Tour leaders cannot recommend or assist with booking the mountaintop ruins due to safety policy.

  • Accommodation: Cold showers may occasionally occur because of local energy supply and infrastructure limitations.

  • Room Arrangements: No triple, adjoining, connecting or family-room configuration is guaranteed.
