Journey from Helsinki through the landscapes and cultures of Finnish Lapland before crossing the Arctic Circle and continuing into northern Norway. Visit Santa Claus Village, meet Arctic sled dogs, experience Sámi traditions, and travel to the dramatic North Cape overlooking the Arctic Ocean. Continue through Alta to Tromsø before embarking on a five-day coastal cruise along Norway’s spectacular shoreline. Sail past the Lofoten Islands, remote fishing communities, mountain ranges, historic Trondheim, glaciers and magnificent fjords before concluding your journey in Bergen.

Day 01: HELSINKI

  • Arrive in Helsinki, Finland’s waterfront capital, and settle into your hotel ahead of the start of your Scandinavian journey.

  • At 6:00 p.m., meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers before enjoying a welcome dinner together at the hotel.

  • Highlight: Begin your Arctic adventure in Helsinki, a stylish Nordic capital set along the Gulf of Finland.

  • Meals: Dinner


Day 02: HELSINKI, OULU

  • Join a Local Guide for a sightseeing tour of Helsinki featuring City Hall, Presidential Palace and Lutheran Cathedral.

  • Continue past the Sibelius Monument and visit Helsinki’s open-air market, with some free time to browse independently.

  • Later, transfer to the airport for your included flight north from Helsinki to Oulu.

  • Highlight: Discover Helsinki’s architecture, waterfront landmarks and Nordic character before travelling deeper into Finland.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Dinner


Day 03: OULU

  • Begin the day with an orientation tour introducing you to Oulu, designated the 2026 European Capital of Culture.

  • Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, with time to explore Market Square and sample local flavours at Oulu Market Hall.

  • See the famous Policeman statue or visit Pikisaari Island, once an industrial district and now home to a thriving artistic community.

  • An optional full-day excursion may be available to Hailuoto Island and Marjaniemi, including lunch and a brewery visit.

  • Highlight: Enjoy Oulu at your own pace, from its traditional market quarter to the wooden surroundings of Pikisaari.

  • Meals: Breakfast


Day 04: OULU, ROVANIEMI

  • Travel approximately 205 km north from Oulu to Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland.

  • Visit the famous Santa Claus Village, uniquely positioned directly on the Arctic Circle.

  • Cross the marked Arctic Circle line and receive an official Arctic Circle Certificate to commemorate the experience.

  • Enjoy time exploring the festive village and the opportunity to see Santa Claus during your visit.

  • Highlight: Cross into the Arctic Circle at one of Finland’s most iconic Lapland destinations.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Dinner


Day 05: ROVANIEMI, LUOSTO, IVALO

  • Depart Rovaniemi and travel to Luosto for a guided visit to a local husky farm.

  • Meet the sled dogs and learn about Arctic survival equipment, sleds, racing traditions and the close bond between mushers and their dogs.

  • Visit the puppy yard and spend time with some of the friendly adult racing dogs cared for by experienced mushers.

  • Experience an introduction to Sámi culture accompanied by traditional snacks.

  • Continue through Finnish Lapland to Ivalo, travelling approximately 320 km during the day.

  • Highlight: Gain insight into Arctic sled-dog traditions while experiencing the culture of Finland’s far north.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Dinner


Day 06: IVALO, KARASJOK, HONNINGSVÅG

  • Depart Ivalo and cross the border from Finland into Norway, continuing through the landscapes of the far north.

  • Stop in Karasjok to visit the Sámi Cultural Park and learn about the history, traditions and lifestyle of the Sámi people.

  • Explore exhibitions displaying Sámi artwork, handicrafts, traditional clothing and cultural artefacts.

  • Continue north towards Honningsvåg, travelling approximately 390 km during the day.

  • Highlight: Discover the living heritage and traditions of the Sámi community in one of northern Scandinavia’s most important cultural centres.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Dinner


Day 07: HONNINGSVÅG, NORTH CAPE, ALTA

  • Travel from Honningsvåg to the dramatic North Cape, one of northern Norway’s most celebrated landmarks.

  • Visit the North Cape Hall and Visitor Centre, spectacularly positioned on a cliff approximately 307 metres above the Arctic Ocean.

  • Stop at the iconic Globe Monument, the symbolic landmark of the North Cape and a favourite photography point.

  • Take in expansive views over the Barents Sea before continuing south towards Alta.

  • Travel approximately 270 km during the day before arriving in Alta.

  • Highlight: Stand high above the Arctic Ocean at one of Europe’s most dramatic northern viewpoints.

  • Meals: Breakfast


Day 08: ALTA, TROMSØ

  • Visit Alta’s UNESCO-listed Rock Art Museum, home to Northern Europe’s largest and richest collection of prehistoric rock carvings.

  • Follow the museum pathways past fascinating carvings created approximately 2,000 to 6,200 years ago.

  • Discover images illustrating the lives and livelihoods of ancient hunter-gatherers and fishing communities.

  • Admire views towards Alta Fjord before continuing approximately 300 km towards Tromsø.

  • Arrive in Tromsø in the late afternoon and enjoy free time to explore the city independently.

  • Highlight: Step thousands of years into Arctic history through Alta’s remarkable UNESCO-listed rock art.

  • Meals: Breakfast


Day 09: TROMSØ

  • Join an orientation walk through Tromsø, one of Norway’s best-known Arctic cities.

  • Visit the striking Arctic Cathedral, recognised for its distinctive triangular architecture and prominent position beside Tromsø Bridge.

  • Enjoy free time to explore Tromsø independently before meeting your fellow travellers again for dinner.

  • An optional excursion may be available aboard the Fjellheisen Cable Car, offering panoramic views across Tromsø and its surroundings.

  • Later in the evening, board your ship and begin your coastal voyage from Tromsø towards Bergen.

  • Highlight: Explore Tromsø’s Arctic character before beginning a spectacular five-day voyage along the Norwegian coast.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Dinner


Day 10: TROMSØ, LOFOTEN ISLANDS

  • Sail south along Norway’s Arctic coastline towards the spectacular Lofoten Islands, where dramatic mountains rise directly beside the sea.

  • Pass the impressive Lofoten Wall, a striking chain of granite peaks emerging from the Arctic waters.

  • Admire colourful fishing villages along the shoreline, where generations of local communities have depended on the winter cod season.

  • Spend the day appreciating the changing coastal scenery and remote landscapes from aboard your ship.

  • Highlight: Cruise through one of Norway’s most photographed regions, surrounded by towering mountains and traditional fishing communities.

Day 11: BODØ, ØRNES, NESNA, SANDNESSJØEN, BRØNNØYSUND, RØRVIK

  • Continue south with an early call at Bodø, followed by Ørnes, before sailing deeper into Norway’s scenic Helgeland Coast.

  • Make a short call at Nesna before continuing towards Sandnessjøen, gateway to the magnificent coastal landscapes of Helgeland.

  • Admire the distinctive Seven Sisters mountain range and hear the local legend surrounding its seven dramatic peaks.

  • Arrive in Brønnøysund and walk along Havnegata towards the marina and Brønnøy Church, a Neo-Gothic stone church dating from 1870.

  • Continue towards Rørvik, a cosy fishing port surrounded by the islands of the picturesque Vikna Archipelago.

  • Highlight: Experience the fishing communities, legends and striking mountain scenery of Norway’s Helgeland Coast.

Day 12: TRONDHEIM, KRISTIANSUND, MOLDE, ÅLESUND

  • Arrive early in Trondheim and step ashore to explore part of this historic city, once an important centre during the Viking Age.

  • See the magnificent Nidaros Cathedral, the resting place of St. Olav and one of Norway’s most significant historic landmarks.

  • Walk towards Gamle Bybro, the Old Town Bridge, for picturesque views across the Nid River.

  • Continue by ship to Kristiansund, a colourful coastal city spread across four islands and historically associated with the dried salted cod trade.

  • Sail onwards to Molde, where views extend towards the striking peaks of the Romsdal Alps.

  • Continue towards Ålesund as your coastal voyage carries you farther south.

  • Highlight: Combine Viking history, colourful harbour towns and dramatic mountain scenery along Norway’s western coast.

  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner


Day 13: ÅLESUND, FLORØ, BERGEN

  • Continue south with views towards Nordfjord, set beneath the vast landscapes surrounding the Jostedal Glacier.

  • Stop at Florø and enjoy time around its harbour and marina before continuing along Norway’s western coastline.

  • As the ship departs Florø, look out for the picturesque Stabben Lighthouse standing offshore.

  • Sail across the mouth of the magnificent Sognefjord, Norway’s longest and deepest fjord.

  • Continue through islands and skerries before cruising along Hjeltefjord on the final approach to Bergen.

  • Arrive in Bergen, disembark and transfer to your hotel, with the evening free to explore independently.

  • Highlight: Complete your coastal voyage surrounded by fjords, glaciers and islands before arriving in Bergen.

Day 14: BERGEN

  • Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before your Scandinavian journey comes to an end.

  • Depart Bergen and continue with your onward travel arrangements.

  • Highlight: Conclude an unforgettable journey across Finland, the Arctic Circle and Norway’s spectacular coastline.
